What do you love about
being an Aspirus emergency
department nurse?
Aspirus nurses share their passion for healing
Theresa Cherubini, RN
Aspirus Keweenaw
I love that an emergency
room helps organize the chaotic
situation that people are often in.
You have to think on your feet—be
prepared and ready to act. I also
feel I am a great patient advocate
to our friends and neighbors in this small community.
The physicians and staff at Aspirus are all excellent to
work with. Together we are a great team. Helping others
is my passion—and we accomplish that right here!
Roger Haapala, RN
Aspirus Ontonagon
ER nurses at the Aspirus
Ontonagon Hospital are very
knowledgeable, friendly and
caring individuals. We take care
of patients, from the most minor
injuries and illnesses to critical,
life-threatening problems. We help patients and their
families deal with these problems by comforting and
educating them about what is happening to them and
how we are helping. Sometimes it is holding a patient’s
hand while they are having a procedure done or just
listening to patients and their families as they work
through these difficult times. We truly care about our
patients and want to see them recover. I am very proud
to be an ER nurse at Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital.
Stacy Saari, RN
Aspirus Grand View
I love the fast pace of the
emergency department and the
ability to help people that are in
need the most. I like knowing
that I have made a difference and
helped save a life. The staff and
physicians here make an excellent health care team.
During the most serious moments, you can realize how
significant a small act can be to a person, a family, a
friend, and I love that.

Following the need
Emergency physicians are trained to work with state-of-the-
art diagnostic and treatment equipment. They also work in
areas as diverse as cruise ships and military battlefields. Some
travel to help out in disaster areas.
Wherever they work, emergency physicians are dedicated to
giving the best care to people in need, when they need it most.
If you have a medical emergency, you’ll be in expert hands
with an emergency physician.
