“The new clinic will allow us
to advance both traditional and
nontraditional health and wellness
services,” said
Joan Suits
, Family Nurse
Practitioner. “I will continue to be able
to provide unique treatments such
as acupuncture to complement the
other core health care services people
need. And now it will all happen in a much more engaging
environment.”
“Another fantastic feature of the
Aspirus Houghton clinic is the way it
brings the multiple therapy services
directly to our patients in the same
location as the medical clinic,” said
Sharon Fisher
, Director of Outpatient
Therapies. “We can do things like link
appointments and give a patient a single trip instead of two or
three—with so much now under one roof.
The new clinic is “patient-centric and
space-smart,” said
Mandy Shelast
,
Aspirus Houghton Clinic Manager. All
service areas are located within a
minimal amount of steps from each
other. “We have a drive-under canopy
that keeps the weather off, as well as a
warm, comfortable registration area and patient seating area,”
Shelast said. “Everything is designed around the patient first.”
Aspirus Houghton clinic Family
Medicine Provider
Marilyn Dewald, MD
,
is thrilled about the way the design
makes so many things better and easier
for the patient and staff. “In our current
medical arts building by the bridge, we
have outgrown the space!”Dr. Dewald
said. The new clinic will allow multiple family medicine providers
and specialists to bring services at the same time. The
one-story design features 13 primary care exam rooms; four
specialty care exam rooms; two procedure rooms; laboratory
services; diagnostic imaging, including mammography, x-ray,
ultrasound and bone densitometry; and pharmacy.
“We’re increasing the number of
doctors and specialists practicing under
one roof to decrease patient travel time
going from one clinic to another local
facility for various procedures and tests,”
said
Mariana Perinot, MD
, Aspirus
Houghton Clinic Family Medicine Provider.
“We’re going to do more for the patient right here than most
freestanding clinics around the country currently offer.”
